Mayor Jacques Martin

I would like to take this opportunity to make the following suggestion to the Edmundston City Municipal Council: When Fraser Papers closes down for good, you should demand that they dismantle their installations as soon as possible and put the land back the way it was before. It would then be possible to use this sector as a tourist attraction by using it as the first Oasis animal zoo, inhabited only by all the animal species found in New-Brunswick’s forests, many of which are not known by most people. You can ask a trapper about these animals. This would make a very interesting place to visit within the BP Sports Oasis.

Nevertheless, the ideal place for such a project would be on the territory of the Madawaska Maliseet First Nations. This tourist stop project, Joanna’s Place, would surely provide a beautiful tourist attraction for all our communities. Therefore, it must be taken into consideration that the trans-Canada highway goes through this project, one of the only towns in Canada to have such an opportunity. It is thus in our collective interest to work together to make this most beautiful tourist stop in Canada a reality.
